 The Bytown Voices is a non-audition (community) choir made up of enthusiastic singers from across the Ottawa region. In 1999 when the Glebe Singers became a women's choir, several of the members approached the accompanist to form a new choir, which is now the Bytown Voices. We perform 2 concerts a year. Our next concert will be Sunday December 14th at 3:00 p.m. at St. Basil’s Church, featuring soloist baritone Garth Hampson.
The choir is directed by Robert Jones and the accompanist is Valerie Kilpatrick.
We practice every Tuesday night from 8 to 10 p.m. at St. Basil’s Church which is located at 940 Rex Avenue, off Maitland Avenue, between Carling Avenue and the Queensway.
New members are always welcome.
Singers pay $85 per semester (2 semesters each school year). If you are new, try us for a couple of rehearsals and then we’ll accept your money !
